  • Maddie Wallace

    OWNER/HAIRSTYLIST

    she/her

I graduated from the Aveda Institute of D.C. in 2016, and have been passionate about creative hairstyling long before I was ever legally allowed to hold a pair of scissors. I was definitely that kid with "experimental" hair in high school, but hey, it led me to where I am today! My absolute favorite thing in this wild industry is to help you feel like the most authentic- and dare I say HOTTEST- version of yourself, but I am especially passionate about embracing your natural texture, razor cutting, freeform and lived in color, along with affirming haircuts.

When I'm not at the studio I love spending quality time with my partner, pets, and friends. Love a night in playing board games. In addition to doing hair, rock climbing is the other reason my hands are looking a hot mess. During our appointment, I love to talk about movies, animal friends, video games, and any and all adventures you may have coming up!

    HAIRSTYLIST

I'm your cheeky Richmond native stylist! After working in the service industry for nearly 15 years, I decided to pursue my love of hair in 2018. My passion lies in connecting with my clients and being able to educate you on how to maintain and simplify your at-home hair routine. I believe a thorough consultation is key, so I pride myself on ensuring you'll never feel rushed or voiceless in my chair. Affirming haircuts, color blocking, vivids, razor cuts, low maintenance and lived in styles are my specialties and I love bringing any wild ideas you have swirling around to fruition.

When I'm not at the studio, I fill my days with traveling, quality time with my partner, our friends and pets, and eating delicious bites. Next time you're in my chair, ask me for restaurant recs or let's chat about our favorite trash TV.

    HAIRSTYLIST

As a kid I grew up in a barber shop watching my dad connect with his clients and create magic cutting their hair. I knew that when I grew up I wanted to experience that. After 14 years as a cosmetologist, I am just as passionate about helping people feel more confident about themselves as I was the first day behind the chair. I love doing lived in and low maintenance color, lightening services, vivids, and all kinds of hair cutting. My goal is to make you feel heard, relaxed, and truly enjoy your time in the studio.

I spend my free time with my kiddos, partner, and pets. I love hanging out with friends, and especially love to be outside so you can either find me on my back porch reading my books while listening to Jazz or doing good ol' yard work.

    HAIRSTYLIST

    she/her

Resident girly pop music enthusiast (see also Swiftie). It all started with an uber textured haircut a la leg shaving razor in 2008. Fast forward to 2017, I graduated from a small hair school in Lynchburg, Va. The rest is history. These days, I specialize in color with an emphasis on vivids and blonding. Lived in cuts and color are my love language, there’s nothing I enjoy more than helping you find your new favorite 'do that works with your schedule and lifestyle. Above all else, hair is the vessel that allows me to forge deep and meaningful relationships with all of you.

When I’m not at the salon, you can usually find me hanging out at home with my son and my greyhound or having a bite and a mocktail at a new Richmond restaurant. Ask me where to go on your next date night, I have a whole list of my favorite food spots that I’m happy to share.

If you’re looking for laid back vibes and fun hair, you’ve come to the right place.

    NAIL ARTIST

    she/they

Like most magical things, I stumbled into nail art in the most unexpected of ways! Instead of going to grad school to become an art therapist, I decided to become a licensed nail tech! Similar vibes, much better return on investment. I love getting to hold hands and hold space with folks for an hour or two of their days and the little artistic collaborations we get to make come to life. Truly such a joyful process for everyone involved!

Outside of the studio you can catch me slangin’ tiny weird jewelry as 'The Curio Fairy' at a number of local markets, hanging with my puppies and partner, and engaging in general tomfoolery and mischief!

    HAIRSTYLIST

    they/them

I started hair at 19 as a young kitchen beautician with bigger aspirations than just ruining my mom’s shower walls with box color and Splat. I didn’t expect helping people love who they are in the mirror to be as affirming as it is. Ten years later and it still fuels and inspires me.

My biggest aspiration behind my chair is providing my community the space to express themselves, to vent, to protest, to love and to be seen in my mirror.

I love texture enhancing, razor cutting, curly hair, mullets, vivids, abstract color placements and the eccentric. We can get feral with it, I have ideas cooking.

Outside of hair I’m just a chill lil lad that has entirely too many craft hobbies. I love video games, maximalism, collecting trolls, my plant jungle and the way books smell. Im a big homebody and I spend most of my time with my kid, my partner, and our two kitties. When I’m not at home you can find me in the junk section of a thrift store or in the woods looking for bugs.
